Elvan was born in İzmit, Türkiye. After completing her teaching degree in English as a second language at Marmara and Dokuz Eylul University in Türkiye, she worked in the public system for 4 years as an ESL teacher in İstanbul.

She and her husband moved to Canada in 1997, and have raised 2 children until she had chosen a different career path, took licensing courses through Ontario Real Estate   Association, and became a Realtor in 2003.

She had worked as a Realtor with Sutton Group for the first  
5 years of her new career and she has been working with Royal LePage Real Estate Services for the past 13 years. She has also been consistently among the award-winning salespeople with her successful niche business in not only finding homes for newcomer families, business people, and students from Türkiye but helping them adapt to their new lives in Canada in so many other aspects.
