GOZDE KAZAZOGLU, PhD

Director of National Policy - Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters
As a policy and government relations professional with inter-national experience, Gozde helps industries to solve complex problems, design public policy recommendations and build productive relationships with the government.
 

She currently works at Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters (CME), Canada’s largest and oldest industry association, as a Policy Director leading energy, environment, labour, skills and immigration files. Previously, she was leading Procter &  Gamble’s government relations and public policy for Türkiye, Caucasus and Central Asia reaching over 150 million   consumers. During her role, she received 2018 and 2020 P&G Türkiye, and 2021 P&G Global Government Relations Awards for her contributions and leadership in government relations and reputation building in highly agile, fast-paced and complex political and economic environment across the region.

Born in Istanbul, Türkiye, after her graduation from Uskudar American High School, she continued her studies at Bogazici University. She holds a bachelor degree in economics, and a master’s degree with cum laude in international trade  management. She then got her Ph.D. degree in Business  Management from Istanbul Technical University.

She recently received her second master’s degree with   several success scholarships as she graduated from Carleton University Clayton H. Riddell Master’s Degree in Political  Management, the well-known and well-respected political management program by senior government officials across Canada. She was nominated by Procter & Gamble and  accepted to Georgetown University’s Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service’s Leadership program in 2019 with 20   distinguished government relations, law and public policy professionals across the world.
 
Gozde contributed to the literature of public policy with   various book chapters and articles as well. As most known, she is the co-author of ‘National Innovation Efficiency During the Global Crisis: A Cross-Country Analysis’ which offers the most comprehensive data set in economic literature to  measure innovation efficiency, and published by Palgrave MacMillan in 2017.
 

Gozde moved to Ottawa, Canada with her spouse Oguz and their cat Pancar in August 2021, and currently lives in Ottawa.
